My school (Doulos) is still looking for qualified 4th &6th grade teachers. If you know anyone who might be interested please ask them to take a look at the website and think about it. I moved in with a local family yesterday and am comfortably settled in their spare bedroom. The power outages have not been too lengthy lately and I am getting to know the other staff who are all amazing individuals.

I began working for Doulos Discovery School in August 2007. Doulos is a private, bilingual, Christian school, in the Dominican Republic, Caribbean Sea where I am teaching science, art and devotionals and learning to rely on the Lord for all things.

Prayer Requests
- Health: My stomache seems to be getting stronger (and we have a better water filter). Bless pray for continued healing and protection for my leg. I am certainly getting plenty of practice walking on what the physical therapists call "uneven surfaces"!
- Patience: This school is doing amazing things....they just take time and huge amounts of effort to pull off
- Funding: I am so blessed to have reached my funding goal! If you would like to continue to contribute to Doulos next year I would be happy to make suggestions.
- More Teachers: Doulos is looking for teachers for next year. Please spread the word.
- Rest and Rejuvenation: I am so thankful to have had my knee fixed, but my body is still healing and the daily tasks of living here wear me out.

How lengthy are the power outages? I guess it means you have to have your clothes ironed out for the week and do everything requiring power within a specified time! Reminds me of life in Nigeria :-)
The power outages haven't been too long yet. The longest outage was on hour. The school has a generator so it is only a problem when I am at the house of the family I'm living with. The power seems to go out at least 3 times a day. It's really not too bad though. I think the only creature comfort I miss is hot water for showers.
